May 11, 2006 Board Minutes
The regular meeting of the Board of
Directors of Lake Iroquois Association was convened at the Clubhouse
on May 11, 2006 at 7:05 p.m. Present were: David Hildenbrand,
President and presiding officer; Floyd Woolridge; Phil
Iverson; Enid Miller; Mark Portwood; Daniel Pursley
and Norma Matson. Mark Webster, Bill Willis and eleven guests
were also present.
Motion by Pursley, second by Miller,
to waive the reading of the April 13, 2006 Board minutes, and accept
them as presented. Motion carried.
Motion by Matson, second by
Miller to accept the minutes of the April 19, 2006 Special Board Meeting,
as presented. Motion carried.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
RECREATION
- Pursley - Application for job of Coordinator of Pool Monitors to
be addressed under Old Business.
ROADS & BUILDING -
Miller - Still no response from owner of lot 337B - 101 Choctaw Trail
re unsightly, eroding clay fill and lack of up-keep.
Bill Ritter,
495B - 130 Mohawk Drive - granted request for extension on 6-month
building permit, which expires 5/17/06. The one-month extension,
with fee of $50, must be renewed each month, with additional fee.

SECURITY -Portwood - Security Officer Bill Willis worked
28 hours in April. He warned a speeding motorbiker; issued courtesy
warnings re inoperable vehicle on property, to two boats on lake,
to non-registered 4-wheeler operating on LIA property, to owner of
non-registered power boat on lake. Supervised vandalism clean-up
3 1/2 hours. Work has been completed.
Violations continue at
the burnpile, with non-yard-waste items.
Total vehicle stickers
issued to date: 264. Total boat stickers issued to date:
approx. 100.
BOAT AND TRAILER STORAGE The area across from the
boat ramps may be used for boat and boat trailer storage, but the
following rules must apply prior to parking them at that location:
1)
Boats may be stored on the trailer from September 1st to May 1st.
2)
Trailers without boats may be stored from March 1st until November
1st.
3) All boats and boat trailers must be stored in the back
of the lot between the steel posts in an orderly fashion, with the
front of the trailer facing the roadway.
4) All boats and boat
trailers must be owned by LIA residents, and be marked with lot numbers,
and stickers placed in the required locations.
5) A call must
be placed to the LIA office (386-2311) or water plant (386-2610) with
the information on boat and boat owner.
Vehicles including, but not
limited to motor homes, campers,utility trailers, or motor vehicles
MAY NOT be stored at this location at any time. These rules
will be strictly enforced by LIA Security.
FINANCE - Woolridge
- Motion by Woolridge, second by Matson, to pay April bills (submitted
in May) of $28,588.65. Motion carried.
No bids were submitted
for the auction of LIA-owned lot 605B - 101 Kiowa Court. The
sale will be advertised again for next month.
Currently there are 39
houses and 53 lots with fees and charges due.
Woolridge moved, second
by Portwood, to suspend purchases of the 911 house address number
signs, which are by law the home owner's responsibility. Motion carried.
The 15 signs currently on hand will be given to new homes in the order
of the building permit dates. Owners who install the signs are reminded
to "Call JULIE" before digging to install posts. The gas line runs
along the road edge.
The rented farm acreage has been drilled with
alfalfa. The tenant will maintain the bike-hiking trail for
LIA member use, and will install a culvert in the ditch on the west
side.

clarification of status of lot 613B, also owned by the seller.
Building Committee will check action of Board in 1980 re payment of
maintenance fee for this lot, which was considered non-buildable"

HOC COMMITTEES
FISH COMMITTEE - Bill Willis - 70 trees were anchored
in the lake for fish shelter and habitat. The Lake Iroquois
Rod and Reel Club will meet June 10, 2006 at the Clubhouse at 1:00
p.m.
FACILITIES ENGINEER - Mark Webster - No report.
NEW
BUSINESS
Sandi Ostrowski - A Little League size ball field has
been informally laid out in the recreation area, and is available
for family use.
A clean-up day for disposal of appliances was
discussed.
Discussion of possibly working with Bayles Lake to obtain
a tornado warning siren, to be installed between the lakes.
Prospective purchaser of contiguous lots 614,615,616,617B requires
clarification of status of lot 613B, also owned by the seller.
Building Committee will check action of Board in 1980 re payment of
maintenance fee for this lot, which was considered non-buildable.
COMMENTS-QUESTIONS
Member
offered to donate and install a canopy over the picnic table at the
Fishing Lake. Mark Webster will confer with the member on the matter.
Pursley
moved, second by Portwood, to go into Executive session at 8:45 p.m. to
discuss personnel hiring. Motion carried.
The Board returned to
open session at 9:10 p.m.
Motion by Pursley, second by Miller,
to hire Jeanne Peterson, 102 Blackfoot Drive (217-386-2498) for
the position of Coordinator of Pool monitors. Motion carried.

LIA Annual Meeting May 20, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Loda
American Legion Hall.
